Why, Tess? Is it because you’re still seeing my father? I hope not!

“OK, whatever you say for now. I want everyone to know you are mine.”

  “And they will soon enough.”

They got up to wash up. Tess went to the bathroom to run them some bath water while August picked up the covers.

She yelled from the bathroom. “Babe, I’m hungry lets order in. I’m off the whole weekend, remember?”

He didn’t answer, lost in thought.

All shit! I did it again. I get so caught up in her I forget about using a condom. I hope she’s on some type of contraceptive. Shit! Why would she be? She’s not seeing anyone. Damn, I shot a load into her. Twice!

“August, what’re you doing? Come on. The water is ready.”

Walking into the bathroom and getting into the water, August responded. “I was trying to straighten things up. Hey. Question, are you on any contraceptives?”

I’ve never been this careless. Tess, I’m off my game, but you better not do me wrong either.

“Relax, babe. I’m not, though. I have no need to be. I wasn’t seeing anyone remember? Until now…And I don’t ovulate until next week. With all the come you released, I’d be in trouble.”

  “You’re sure?”

“Yes, I am. Trust me, I’m not any readier than you are to have a baby.”

“Good, OK. At least not now. I want to enjoy you for a while.”

  “Me too.”

  ****

“August? I have to eventually go back to work. Anaya’s been handling my cases for me, but I can’t keep doing that to her. I’ve been out of the office for almost three weeks,” Tess said as they lay together nude in Augustus’s hammock in the back yard.

“I know, father’s been calling asking me if I’ve heard from you. He thinks your ill and wants me to check in on you. I don’t mind. Shit yeah, in fact, since they think you’re sick, I’m your doctor. So you have to listen to your doctor.”

Augustus caressed her chin and gazed into her eyes as he planted a wet kiss.

“And what does the doctor prescribe for his patient?” Tess smiled tauntingly, biting her bottom lip.

Placing one hand behind his head, Augustus stroked his manhood. “My cock, of course. It’s sure to make you feel good. I promise you. You won’t have any qualms.”

“Ooh, doctor! You’re so bad. I think you’re more concerned with your own treatment.”

Oh my goodness, I’ll never get enough of his massiveness. All nine inches!

“OK, well look at it this way. We just ate that big dinner we grilled together in only our aprons. So now we’ll have dessert—each other. What do you think?”

“I like that better. And I think I’ll have mine first.” Tess reached for the fruit. She rubbed his cock with some watermelon, took a bite of the fruit and began licking and sucking on his cock. The only lighting they had were insect repellent candles and the outdoor fireplace. Taking her time she covered ever inch, concentrating mostly on his shaft. Her tongue did most of the work while her lips squeezed and held it in place.

“Damn, Tess, you’re going to make me come sucking it like that! God, this shit feels so good. Woman, I’ll take on the world for you. You hear me? That’s right, suck all of it. Take it deep into your mouth,” Augustus growled through gritted teeth.

It’s alright with me, babe. Let it loose. Make your pole spit your liquids in my mouth! Ooh yeah!

She opened her mouth to show him his rod sliding back and forth across her tongue.

“I hear you, but what are you waiting for? Fill my cup.”

Continuing the sensuous movements of her mouth, she curved her tongue around the tip of his member. Augustus instantly released his load in her.

  “Mujer, que es incredible!”

He then watched her lick him clean.

“Mm, come here. My turn,” he commanded.

“Hm, You are amazing! Isn’t that what you just said in Spanish? That’s how I know I’m doing my job, babe. Anytime I make you speak in Spanish…”

“See, that’s how you mess up. You run your mouth to the King of your Pussy!” Augustus laughed as he banged his chest like King Kong.

“No, wait, hold on a minute, big boy! See, you always have to show off.” Tess’s voice trembled as she laughed with him.

“What’s wrong? You getting scared now? Where is your bark now?”

He grabbed her and laid her on the lawn chair, parting her legs. His cock parted her canal like it owned her tunnel. Augustus held her ankles while delivering short and fast strokes. Tess knew he loved making her scream. It didn’t matter that they were outside. August owned his own estate and no one could enter onto his grounds without him buzzing them in through an electronic gate. His property was surrounded by iron gates and large trees, from one end to the other, which also delivered privacy.

“OK, OK, babe, OK. Let me catch my breath. Please, I can’t handle all that,” she cried.

“Say it again!” He pumped harder. “Say it again. It’s too much for you isn’t it?”

“Ooh, ooh, ah—. Yes, it is!”

  “Who’s the King? I can’t hear you!”

“You, babe. You’re the King of my pussy! Ah—”

Augustus slowed down so Tess could catch her breath. He kissed her ankles and sucked on her toes. Then they’re positions were reversed, and Tess was straddling him.

Tess allowed her breasts to bounce hard in his face. She knew that turned him on more.

He can’t resist my breasts. Mm hm, I feel his rod swelling. It’s getting harder!

His mouth opened, seizing her nipples, one at a time, he clutched her ass, pulling her faster back and forth. He released her mouth and roared, his seed spilling into her as she pounded against him even harder.

  “Ah—Goddamn! Yeah, shit yeah!”

Augustus cuddled her while their chests beat vigorously against each other.

“Bonito! You’re right. I have to admit it. Making love to you is so amazing, and I think we look beautiful together.”

She reached for her wine. Augustus took a sip and she finished the glass. Before she could say a word, nausea suddenly rolled through her and she ran into the house to the bathroom. She slammed the door behind her before Augustus could follow her inside. He knocked hard on the door.

  “Tess, babe, you alright?”

“Uh, yes, give me a moment.”

  “I’ll wait for you.”

“No, I’ll be back out in a sec.” She looked in the mirror at herself.

I must have the flu or be coming down with something. This has been happening off and on. One minute I feel fine, the next I feel like I got hit by a taxi or something worst.

  “Okay.”

Tess returned outside to the patio and climbed back into the hammock.

“Oh, I forgot to tell you that I have a business trip coming up soon. I have to go to the States on your father’s behalf for a new venture he’s looking into.”

Augustus jumped out of the hammock. He put on his robe. In a heated voice he said, “Oh! What does that entail? For how long? Is he going with you?”

“Hold on! What’s wrong? Why are you responding this way? I’ll be gone for a month and I’m not sure if he’s going or not.”

“Hell no! Hell to the fuckin NO! Why does he have to monopolize your time? I don’t want you working for him anymore. I mean it! We both know I’m the better man!”

“Excuse me! What did you just say?” Tess asked as she snatched her robe up as well. She started putting on her flip flops.

She paused for a second as Augustus walked into the house, then followed him inside.

“Oh my god! It’s all making sense now. Your behavior at the restaurant, the party, and just now, you said you’re the better man.”

Augustus snapped back. “Yes! That’s what I said.”

Tess continued yelling. “I thought you were competing or something with your brother that night. Your father said it was probably
something between you and your brother. He said you two always had something going on because you both were always competitive, but you weren’t, you were directing that to your father weren’t you?”

“Yes I was! Do you two have, or had, something going on? Or did I interrupt it?”

She slapped him in the face.

“Who the hell you think you are, August? I told you not to hurt me or mess this up! I opened up to you. So none of this is real? I was just some type of macho project for you to come in between you and your father. You wanted to just fuck me so he wouldn’t.”

She tried to hit him again but he caught her hand.

“No! That’s not how it is or what I was doing. This is real and all I shared with you was real too! My father loves young women…”

Tess pulled away, grabbed her things, and headed for the door. “Save it, August! I don’t give a damn. I don’t want to hear it. I work for your father. This is my career.”

He tried to stop her from leaving by blocking the door.

“If you just calm down and hear me out so I can explain myself. Why are you so emotional?”

“Dammit, you haven’t seen emotional yet! If you don’t get the hell out my way right now!”

He raised his voice and got a little sterner.

“Tess McDaniel! You’re not leaving this house this late, without any clothes on, and no car! You can stay in my room and I’ll stay down here or in one of the other seven bedrooms. In the morning I’ll take you home.”

She whipped out her cell phone and hit the speed dial.

“I know it’s late and I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you. But, can you come and pick me up at Augusts’s please, thanks.”

“So this is the way you’re going to handle this. Fine! I don’t have to take this shit either, Tess. Your reaction makes me think I must be right or you have feelings for my father too.”

“What the hell! Yeah, whatever, August, and you can kiss my ass!”

“Yeah? Well, I did that already! So what else do you have to say?”

She walked away, then ran upstairs to take a quick shower and put her clothes on. Tess threw up a couple more times before she left, but kept the fact to herself.

I don’t believe this man! I thought I knew August. He’s my friend and my lover. Why would he even think that I would cross that line with his father? I see Julius as my own father. Ew, hell no, August. Your just out right wrong on this, but you don’t get to control or rule me either, or say who can be my client. Hell to the fuckin’ no on that!

She watched him walk back to the patio. A half hour later, Ayana buzzed at her arrival and pulled up to the mansion and took her home.

  Chapter Four

“Buenos dias, McDaniel and Associates! How can I help you this morning? I’m sorry, Ms. McDaniel is not in this morning, can I take a message?” Nina, Tess’s secretary stated when she answered the office phone.

Wearing sunglasses, Tess walked into her office building swiftly. “Good morning, Nina. Please hold all my calls, except for the ones from the Escobar family.”

  “Yes, ma’am,” Nina replied.

“Oh, check to see if Ms. Simmons is in this morning. If she is, please ask her to see me A.S.A.P., OK? Thanks. I’m working on a proposal for an acquisition, so please don’t let anyone else disturb me.”

  “Sure thing, Ms. McDaniel.”

Oh no, not again. I’m getting tired of this. Every damn morning, night, during the day, or anytime for that matter. This has to stop. Come on, Ayana, I need to talk to somebody. Where are you?

Tess walked briskly past her receptionist and into her office, shutting the door behind her. She rushed to her bathroom. While feeling sick as a dog, she appreciated the privacy of her own restroom. A knock at the office door helped her pull it together. After letting Ayana in she flopped down on her sofa.

“Tess? What’s going on with you? You’re not yourself. Come on, girl, what’s up? Talk to me. I’m here,” Ayana pleaded. “Look, cuz, you have to talk to someone and I’m the only real family you have now. You can’t keep carrying what’s going on around inside of you.”

Ayana dropped down on the sofa beside her and hugged her.

“I know, I know! Lately I just can’t think straight, don’t know if I’m coming or going. And this bug got me on some kind of roller coaster.”

I don’t know if I should open up to Ayana. I’ve never shared my personal life with her. I guess we do need to get a little closer. After all, she did move here to be with me.

Anaya looked down at the floor raising her feet up to rest underneath her. “Bug? What bug? We have bugs?”

“No, silly! I mean…” Tess looked at Ayana with watering eyes. “I’ve been sick. I’ve been trying to hide it. It hits me especially late at night or early in the morning.”

“What’re your symptoms? Why haven’t you gone to the doctors all this time?”

Another urge to head for the bathroom came upon Tess. She ran out of her shoes this time.

“Damn girl, you are sick and worst of all you look like it too. When you go out, put those sunglasses back on. You have dark rings around your eyes.”

She returned from the bathroom. “I see them. That’s from not sleeping at night. A couple of times I’ve woken up in the morning from sleeping with my head in the toilet. I think I know what’s wrong ”

  “Ew, that’s nasty.”

“Yeah, well as gross as it sounds, I don’t care about all that when I feel sick.”

“Are you stressing over, August? It’s been five and a half weeks since you guys talked. I know you love him. Look at you, you’re mess.”

Tess jumped up and immediately sat back down due to the nauseous feeling that suddenly hit her. “How do you know that? I’ve never shared that with you.”

“No, but Atticus has. He told me how much August was into you and concerned that their father wanted you too. I told him that was absurd.”

“Yeah, really! That’s like dating my own father.”

Ayana got up and started walking back and forth in a slow pace to brainstorm.

“Tess, you know how these Escobar men are. They’re full of charm and a cannon waiting to go off. Between making love and trying to diffuse their explosive tempers, they can be a handful.”

“I see that gleam in your eye. What do you know and what’s going on? I saw you and …”“Yes, Atticus. Atticus is what I know very well, but we’re talking about you and August right now, so that’s another story for a later time,” Ayana replied with a blush and widened eyes.

“Mm hm, yeah, OK, for the moment. Go ahead. I’ll let you off the hook.”

“Just listen to me. You know August better than I do. I think August always had feelings for you. And because you’ve been spending so much time with his father, it made him sensitive to those feelings as they began to surface.”

Tess pondered on what Ayana was saying.

“Then why wouldn’t he just ask me if it was so instead of just accusing me?”

“Hello—? You know these Latinos are hot-headed and territorial over their women. Maybe he was afraid of the answer you might give him because he wanted you just as bad. I think you should call him.”

“Oh my god!” Tess hit her forehead with the palm of her hand.

Ayana was startled. “What? What’s wrong?”

“I do know what’s wrong… how could I have been so stupid and blind? Probably because I’ve been in denial, so damn sick, and just busy trying not to think about him…”

“What? I’m not following! What’re you talking about?”

  Tess’s eyes watered up again.

“My period is two months late! What the hell!”

They both fell backward onto the sofa.

“Wow!” Ayana expressed. “What are you going to do?”

“Get up! Come on, we’ve got to go to my house, but the first stop is to pick up a pregnancy test kit.”

Tess spun around on her heel.

  “Ayana
! I don’t know how close you and Atticus are, but you have to swear to me that this will not leave your lips.”

“You can trust me. I think you know me pretty well now. Otherwise, knowing how you are in business, we wouldn’t be having this conversation at all. So let’s go see what’s really going on.”

“Girl! You’re alright, Ayana. Thank you for being here for me. And if you ever need me, I’m here for you too.”

  “Aw! Thanks, Cousin.”

They grabbed their pocketbooks and left out the office in a hurry.

“Nina! I’m gone for the day.”

“Ok, Ms. McDaniel, but I just wanted to tell you that Señor Julius Escobar and Señor Augustus Escobar called. They want you to return their calls.”

  “Alright! Thank you.”

Tess jumped in her car and Ayana followed in hers.

  ****

“Come on in. I’m sorry that we haven’t been spending any real time together. When my father died, I buried a part of me with him. I wouldn’t let anyone get close except August, then even he changed.”

Oh god, please don’t let me be pregnant. I can’t be. I just can’t be!

“So you think you have enough pregnancy test kits?”

“Well, I got six of them. I thought I picked up seven. Should I have got more?”

“No! I was being funny because you already have more than enough.”

“Shut up, I need a second opinion. You know just in case one might be faulty.”

Tess’s hands were trembling while she was opening the box. Her mind was racing. She knew this was a big deal. Knowing the information she was given about the Escobar’s inheritance, the last thing she wanted was to be accused of is being a gold digger. If pregnant by August, her baby, if born a female, stood to inherit billions.

This was too much information, she couldn’t handle it. How could she face Julius and tell him she’s pregnant by his son after he entrusted her with his legal affairs. The results could destroy her business, causing her to lose her license to practice law, put others out of work, and more. She knew she had to make a lot of decisions in the next second, including talking to August. Tess used a disposable cup to urine in, then inserted the dip sticks.
